Pre-Budget Seminar at LUMS

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been bringing changes in Local Government System to devolve the powers to the lowest level in order to improve the service delivery not for any political achievement, while it will keep the all stakeholders including academia, researchers, and experts on board in policy making. Besides, the political leadership will ensure representation of the public and national interest and strengthening the institutions is core focus of the PTI policies.

These views were expressed by the Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakhat addressing a pre- budget seminar held at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He said the next eight months budget will be the corrective budget of the ongoing development schemes of the previous government while the Government of the Punjab will keep conducting such session to implement the 100 Days Agenda of PTI.

The minister believed that the policy making is a collective work in which educational institutions also play equal role along with public sector institutions. He instructed the Chairman, Planning and Development Department to continue the discussions with the faculty members of the universities.

The faculty members, economists, students and other participants of the session pointed out the loopholes in the government policies and bureaucratic hurdles in implementation of various policies. However, the government officials clarified the situation and government position on the various questions.
