The Monitoring Wing is mainly responsible for:
- Submission of finance accounts, appropriation accounts and commercial accounts along with the Auditor General's report to the Governor for approval to present these documents to the provincial assembly
- Representing Finance Department in the meetings of the Public Accounts Committees of the legislature
- Monitoring the progress of disposal of audit paras
- Monitoring progress of receipt of monthly civil accounts of Government of the Punjab from the Accountant General
- Examining of aforementioned accounts in the Finance Department and the reconciliation of the figures of expenditure and receipts from Administrative Departments with the audit offices
