Provincial Minister for Finance Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha presided over a departmental meeting in connection with preparations of 9th NFC Award. Special Secretary Finance Saifullah Dogar, Member NFC Muhammad Asif, Deputy Secretary Resource Nauman Masood, PFM Advisor Faisal Rasheed and head Debt Management Unit Abdul Rehman Warraich were also present on the occasion. The aim of the meeting was to give a final shape to review, suggestions and objections of the report sent regarding estimates of subsidies and grants by 4th Working Group constituted in the first meeting of NFC Award. Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that all four provincial governments are waiting for new NFC Award at the earliest in order to dispose off their financial matters especially responsibilities in social sector after 18th amendment in an efficient manner. She told the meeting that the responsibility of preparation of reports of resource mobilization, expenditure and revenue for next five years assigned to the provinces in the first meeting of 9th NFC Award has been completed. She said that in this regard, the report of 4th working group i.e. the report of estimates of subsidies and grants by federation was awaited which has been sent to all the four provinces a few days ago. She said that presently, the provinces are preparing their opinions on this report to inform the federal government about their objections and proposals. She said that federal government has also directed to dispose this matter soon so that next meeting of NFC could be convened by the end of November. On this occasion, Special Secretary apprised the meeting of minutes of the report, after which, on the direction of provincial minister, all the members informed about their suggestions. All the proposals and reservations were giving a final shape on the spot with unanimous opinion of the meeting. Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha directed Special Secretary to take these suggestions and objections with him in a documentary shape during meeting with federal representatives.
